Book Review: The Wundersmith

Image
THE WUNDERSMITH THE CALLING OF MORRGIAN CROW BY JESSICA TOWNSEND Morrigan Crow has finally found a place to call home, or so she thinks. The Wundrous Society promised her friends, family and protection. But her newly found friends turn against her when a mysterious figure starts black mailing them, Morrigan must try harder than ever to control her newly found powers. People are disappearing all over and Nevermoor is getting more dangerous by the moment. Can Morrigan keep her secret hidden or will she endanger her new family? A wonderful tale form Jessica, truly dazzling. I felt like I was a part of Morrgian's life and the Wundrous Society.  I forgot how much I loved these characters from Jupiter, Hawthorne, Jack, Fenestra and so many more. In the few days it took me to read this book, I felt like I was apart of their wild and crazy lives. This story definitely kept me guessing right until the end, and not giving any spoilers away, I think the ending was indescribably bri...

Book review: The Dream Snatcher

Image
THE DREAM SNATCHER BY: ABI ELPHINSTONE Abi elphinstone's Instagram  The marks, the beating thyme of the drums, the shaking of the rattles, and the dark whispers from the shadowless figure. The Dream Snatcher is calling! This is a tale of twists and turns, a story of the brave and the dangerous, this is the tale of Moll Pecksniff and her wildcat Gryff. I read this book in two and half days, it could be the fact it was a only 278 pages long or because I just couldn't put it down. This was a whirlwind of an adventure and all I could do was dive in. I didn't really know what to think of it when I first started but as the story progressed I found myself beginning to fall in love with the characters and the danger they faced. The Dream Snatcher is the first book in a three book series, each one facing different dangers and darkness. I have only just finished reading the first book but I'm itching to get the second, The Shadow Keeper, as soon as I get time to pop ...

The Ghost within the Ink The day rolled out and the raven night sky awoke. It was time for me to become what my family calls a Haunted. I always wanted to become a haunted, to get a tattoo, something about having a spirit trapped within your skin has always intrigued me. All of my family are very powerful people in London, they always seem to get a powerful spirit tapped within them. I always wanted to become a haunted from the moment I saw my older brother, Cornelius, get his tattoo done. I will never forget what happened. A thick smoke of shadows swallowed him up and he emerged like a phoenix from the ashes of a dying fire. He was a whole new person, he had a smile as bright as day and the eyes of a wise old man...

Book review: A Far Away Magic

Image
A FAR AWAY MAGIC BY: AMY WILSON This book twists and turns, taking my breath away. From the first page I read I was pulled into a world full of magic, grief and monsters. Once again Amy Wilson has amazed me, after reading  A Girl Called Owl and now A Far Away Magic I can't wait to see what other magical and mystical books she publishes. Once again Helen Crawford-White did a gorgeous job of illustrating the cover and the inside of the book. While reading this I found myself being drawn further and further into this new magical world, and I was so sad when I got to the last page. I felt like I had lost a friend, this book has so much in it that I want there to be more, to have the adventure  carry on with Angel and Bavar. The story has so much meaning to it, even the smallest details mean something. I have read a lot of fantasy books but reading this book I found myself intrigued with the magic that bloomed and flowed from the world. The books magic has depth to it, s...

SKY SONG BY: ABI ELPHINSTONE Hi my peeps! I have just been blow away by this amazing book that I have just read. I only bought it yesterday and I finished it today. Its name is Sky Song by Abi Elphinstone. I'm in love with her writing, her story, her character and the plot, it took me into a world that I fell in love with. The way she writes is to pure for this world, just amazing! Sky Song is about finding where you belong, about your tribe and your people. Within this book it's about friendships, trust, courage, bravery and hope, it's truly amazing how one book can teach you so much. Even when the odds are against the characters as Eska and Flint  find a away to save their kingdom form an evil Ice Queen. This story talks about magic and the connection between humans and animals. There is a quote that I love in this book and it was. "This is the wild, and the wild doesn't play by ordinary rules!" It give me chills every time I read it because I belie...
